I Forgot We Were Married
Synopsis
Song Qiaoyi lost her memory in a car crash five years ago. When she woke up, a man named Shi Jifeng—her best friend Mu Qingqing’s boyfriend—was lying beside her. Overwhelmed with guilt for betraying her friend, she was shocked to learn she and Shi Jifeng were already married, five years ahead of the timeline she could remember. Desperate to escape, she tried jumping out the window but failed. Later, she found out they even shared a young daughter, Shi Xiaotang. Realizing Qiaoyi truly had no recollection of the past five years, Shi Jifeng hid the truth about her mother’s death, hoping to rebuild their love from scratch. Just as their relationship grew sweet, Mu Qingqing visited and lied that Shi Jifeng had killed her father. Before she could reveal what happened to Qiaoyi’s mother, Shi Jifeng rushed over to stop her. During their confrontation, Qiaoyi spotted a business plan showing Shi Jifeng intended to buy her late mother’s company. Convinced he only married her for wealth, she fainted from heartbreak. After waking, she left a divorce agreement and fled back to the Song family home. There, she discovered her father had married Sun Ling, the mistress who destroyed her parents’ marriage, and brought their illegitimate son Song Chu to live with them. Mu Qingqing later ambushed Qiaoyi, making her hit her head again. The blow unlocked fragmented memories of her mother’s death, and Qiaoyi wrongly blamed Shi Jifeng for the murder. Guided by her daughter Xiaotang, she set out to uncover the real killer. Manipulated repeatedly by Mu Qingqing and Song Chu, Qiaoyi grew fully convinced Shi Jifeng was guilty and accidentally wounded him. At this moment, Lu An—the man who’d cared for Qiaoyi overseas—stepped forward, confessing his wish to win her heart. Shi Jifeng tracked down the coroner who handled her mother’s autopsy, only to find Song Chu had murdered the man first to cover his tracks. Before dying, the coroner told Qiaoyi the true cause of her mother’s death, making her start to trust Shi Jifeng again. Yet tangled schemes by Mu Qingqing and misunderstandings planted by Lu An pushed Shi Jifeng to give up; he filed for divorce. To divert suspicion away from himself, Song Chu coerced an old maid to frame Mu Qingqing as the killer. Learning she was being used as a scapegoat, Mu Qingqing kidnapped Qiaoyi and Xiaotang. She was about to expose Song Chu’s crimes when he killed her. Everyone’s investigation then focused on Song Chu. With support from Shi Jifeng and Lu An, Qiaoyi reclaimed full control of the Song Group. She uncovered that Song Chu and her stepmother Sun Ling had murdered her mother, and the pair were arrested and brought to justice. Qiaoyi’s lost memories all returned, but she learned Shi Jifeng had left for overseas medical treatment after sustaining critical injuries saving her. A year later, Shi Jifeng pretended to have amnesia to shield Qiaoyi from further danger. Under cover, he exposed his cousin Shi Jin’s illegal embezzlement that nearly ruined their family enterprise. Lu An gracefully stepped back from his romantic pursuit of Qiaoyi. In the end, Qiaoyi, Shi Jifeng, and their daughter Xiaotang reunited to live a warm, peaceful life as a family.
